Through free play children find out about themselves together with world around them, building up their physical, emotional, social, cognitive and creative skills because they go along.Play could be the essence of childhood while the spice of adult life.

Children play for pleasure. Adults can plan for the reality that children play to develop. As adult decision makers creating areas for kids we have to remind ourselves that our needs might not be the same as the children’s needs.

The play space ought to be a balanced area welcoming all users – but the children come first! Playgrounds should have evident signals for play, to remind our children of the fact that these are typically welcome into the public sphere.
